Uh May Residence nominated for Frame Awards 2020
The prestigious accolade seeks spatial excellence and honors the world’s best interior design project.
Roth Architecture, an innovative architectural firm founded by Roth, has been nominated to receive one of the prestigious Frame Awards, which identify and honor the world’s best interior projects and the people behind them.
Uh May Residence, Roth’s private house located inside the property of AZULIK Uh May and surrounded by the Mayan jungle, has been selected as one of the finalists in the House of the Year category. The winners, which will be announced on 20 February 2020, will be chosen based on the interior design of the residence rather than the building itself.
The Frame Awards seek spatial excellence. Founded in 1997 as a media brand for interior design professionals, Frame boasts over twenty years of experience empowering designers and architects to pursue ever more ambitious and refined projects. Today, the works nominated to the awards are evaluated by all industry stakeholders and divided into four parent categories: Spatial Awards, Executional Awards, Societal Awards, and Honorary Awards.
Uh May Residence, which participates in the Spatial Awards category, is a meditative space for the creative process. Using the natural surrounding environment as a main source of inspiration, the organic construction eschews right angles and straight lines in favor of a cohesive language of flowing curves.
The awards will be announced in a two-day event and award ceremony taking place in Amsterdam that includes inspiring talks by industry leaders, panel discussions, workshops, multisensorial exhibitions, and live judging of each category.
